More pictures from the twilight zone. I can't make green mountains in the winter and white mountains in the summer.

I don't get white mountains in summer. I only get them in spring and fall.

Do you get them on any specific routes and not on others? Trying to come up with a explanation and then maybe a fix.

Marias, Sherman and Donner are the only ones I know about. They all have the white mountain issue for me. If I have an unaffected route I don't know about it yet.

Horseshoe Curve in the fall is pretty bad too.

Well I'm not sure where I am going with this but I went and looked where on of the fog over ride was set to false and when I set the time in the scenario to outside of the fog time my white mountain went away. I agree with Michael that a lot of this is because we can see further with 2015. Now how to fix without spending a hundred hours changing all these parameters in all these weather bins is a mystery to me at this point.

A real knotty issue which is probably why DTG will not tackle it.

I don't think it's that complicated. It just needs a little effort to figure it out (I suspect that most of the mystery has been solved here) now we just need to figure out a fix.

Who wants to beta test at least what seems to be a partial fix?

Just noticed this on the UKTS site:
The white distant hills issue isn't likely to be "fixed" by a core update, its a side-effect of the new weather engine in TS2015. The "fix" is to either use new weather blueprints with pre-TS2015 routes or to modify their own weather blueprints to compensate for the effect (which works, to an extent). As the weather used is a property of scenarios not routes, and many 3rd party scenarios use old Kuji or early RailWorks weather blueprints, the issue isn't going to be fixed by DTG.
.

There is also a "fix" published further down on the same pots.

No my post has nothing to do with whatever this fix is since I haven't even read what it has to say. My patch is based on information I got from Bob and then fiddled the files myself. It is in fact in beta with someone as we speak.

Gotcha! I did look through the previous posts and couldn't see a similar one - but then I need new specs!

The UKTS fix replaces some files in the Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\weather/time files.
