I managed to finish this. Lost lots of points because of brake issues, would go into emergency at 28% application, and wheel slip.

That issue of Emergency triggering after a short throttle handle run is an original bug that never was fixed by DTG or their subcontractor. I expended lots of hours on trying to fix that but I could´t, though I improved it somewhat. The result was not too acceptable but removed the emergency state from the brakes. There was also the couplings bug (cars intersecting with loco) that never was fixed.

Is the issue happening on the stock version only? I remember running it a while back and putting it into notch 8 without issue. However, I had fanrailer's SD80MAC mod installed, so I'm not sure if that affected anything.

The freeze seems to happen in 64 bit only. 32 bit runs okay for me with the fanrailer mods.
The poor braking coupled with the speed changes can kill your score. Also not sure about that invalid consist penalty.

Strange. If the problem lied within the 32-bit version, it would make sense, however, it is not. I'll have a look at it sometime, as I haven't run the SD80MAC ever since I moved all of my assets onto my new PC.

I sent a ticket to DTG and this was there reply. "Due to the age of the loco and scripting, it would appear some functions are not working as intended within the 64-Bit version of TS2020 so please ensure to use the 32-Bit version in the meantime." BTW I installed fanrailers brake mod and it made them worse.
