Alright, so here is the problem I'm running into. The GP40 didn't have it's own CabView.GeoPcDx file because it was using the CabView from the Kuju SD40. I took the Kuju CabView.Geo and put it in the CabView folder for the GP40. I edited both the .GeoPcDx and the engine.bin for the repaint. I put all the textures from the SD40 into the CabView textures folder for the GP40. I got the missing texture banner now in the cab. I'm starting to get really confused! !*hp*!

jtousign, do you by any chance remember if the St. L&A textures showed up in the cab view before the first fix I posted? I don't even remember.

Okay... Would you happen to possibly have any ideas that I can try to see if I can get the repaint to show up in the cab view? I kinda lost now... *!lol!*

Hi! Well I'm about to complete my first repaint in my life! I use the RSC GP38 BN pack as the basic loco and I'm stuck by three bugs: auto numbering, unwanted glossy texture and guess what? I see the BN texture through the inside cab windows instead of the repaint which is a new livery for the File Library of Railworks America in a near future if I get just a little help from my friends !!jabber!! The livery is: Central Maine & Québec Railway !!det!! This company has replaced the late Montreal Maine & Atlantic RR after the Lac Mégantic tragedy. If you could tell me where I can watch a tutorial about those issues I would be very grateful. !*cheers*!

You can get rid of the glossy texture by: exporting all the original textures and then export the alpha layer for each texture. Now, when you go to save your new textures for your repaint, go in and import the alpha layer from the original textures.

For the Cab View, you need to copy the CabView.GeoPcDx and then open it with RWTools. Go through and replace the BN references for your repaint like you did for the engine.bin. Now go in and edit the Engine.bin for your repaint and find the reference for the CabView.GeoPcDx. You will need to rename it to whatever you decided earlier when you copied the default. Now save it and should now show the repaint textures in the cab.

What are your questions on auto-numbering?

(Hope all this makes some sense... !**duh*!! )

Hi ET44C4 !*salute*! Many thanks for reply. You know, I'm quite a beginner in that wonderful world of reskining so I'm not sure how to export the alpha layers. I use to work with RW_Tools, Paint shop pro 20 and Gimp 2.10. I didn't see anything about how to separate layers from a TGPCDX file. As you see, I'm a perfect beginner !DUH! About the cabview I would need to watch a video or seeing pictures of the files, a complete tutorial finally. By the way have you found how to see the St-LnA colors instead of the black ones in your repaint? !*salute*!

Yeah, I understand completely! I confuse myself even lol...

I might be able to try and make some tutorial or something for you tomorrow, if that would work.

As for my repaint and the cabview, I hit a brick wall. I don't really know how to fix it to be honest. I wish I could, but I haven't encountered something like it before..... !**conf**! **!!bang!!**

I forgot to answer about the numbering issue, I understand what means auto numbering and fixed numbers but how to edit this? The basic loco of my repaint is auto numbered and there is a huge number on both sides of my loco and I can't find where is that dern number to get rid of. !*hp*!

So, since you used the BN model, the numbers show up on the side of the hood. Unfortunately, you can't move these numbers. You can remove them, however, and also keep the auto-numbering in the numberboards at the same time. You'll have to hand paint the numbers on the cab. If you want to remove all auto-numbering completely, you can just delete the numbers.dcsv file in the Engine folder of your repaint. That would no longer give you numbers in the numberboards, though.

Video tutorials coming soon.... I can explain how to do the numbers after I show you the tutorials. Maybe you might be able to understand a little better after I show you my video. It will require you to edit the alpha layers...

!!*ok*!!

This tutorial is about exporting and importing alpha layers. This method will remove the glossy look of your textures.
