Has the late Ottodad meddled with this route originally? Replacing all the default Kuju track textures with pink granite he liked better?

The tracks.bin should give the answer which types of track are in use.

Downloading and installing now to a junk install of Railworks, as I won't put anything that has Ottodad's "improvements" in my main USA install.

Indeed does this route use Ottodad's types of track that are not in the default Kuju\RailSimulator\RailsimulatorUSAassets.ap

So you need to get hold of one of the "improved" routes of Ottodad's, or their accompanying asset packs.

Hi

I have all of Otto's routes, including all iterations of this genre BSB, Colton etc.

I'll have a play and see what happens, I have a backup...

BTW Otto's stuff always worked.

Hi

without knowing what I need to do or am actually doing,
I am giving up for now.

As stated I have all of Otto's files if anyone can suggest a copy/paste
to try.

Cheers

I suggest you contact the author of this route: William Putnam. I haven't found him in the RWA members directory.

Hi Edwin

Before I try to contact Bill I am thinking that the problem may be that the terrain is
too high or the tracks are too low, is there a tutorial on how to modify this.

Thanks

I used RW_Tools to raise tracks 20 cm without improvement. Also noted several milk bottles throughout several scenarios.

Hi

20cm is almost nothing if it is real world, is it possible to try a lot more and see what happens?

Cheers

Hi Buzz

I have Bills email address but am VERY reluctant to email him,
the guy deserves to be left alone if he wants to be left alone.

As far as I am aware Bill's genius was in the graphics and he
worked with Otto Wipfel and others on getting the RW software right
so perhaps someone with more knowledge than me would be able
to compare the working Bill Putnam routes with this one.

In the final analysis it is not that important but I would love to get
Bills latest submission up and running, he has put so much effort in to it.

Cheers

As this may be a dead end venture should it be withdrawn from the file library until this issue is resolved? At the moment it is useless. Sad because it looks good so far.

Buzz,
Mine seems to be working okay... !!det!! * I actually have a lot of Otto's stuff in a 3rd Party Route folder as shown below ( highlighted ) so maybe that helped..?????
As you can see by the number of RailWorks folders, I run a system like the minnie routes of old with MSTS. Yes, a little bit of manual fiddling when swapping and renaming Routes around to run as the main RailWorks folder. A lot less hassles I have... !!*ok*!!
I tried a couple of freeroam scenarios, one ( Mojave mixed South ) had an issue with a derailment at very start. I edited it and found 8 overlaying wagons in the consist, fixed and away okay ...2nd picture.
The second scenario ( Borax pickup ) started okay with no issues....last picture.
As you can see there are tracks, so what gives with other members... !*don-know!* Also this was running with 64 bit.

It must be Otto's stuff that most of us are missing. I have all the 3D track assets. I am wondering if he has used something else?

Hi

I just installed "west-colton-bsb-mojave-trona-2015-complete" and all is now well, tracks are there.

Bill does mention "You must have the original RailWorks, Barstow Cajon Pass, San Bernardino route, "
in the Assets document so I grabbed the nearest one I had.

Anyway, thanks to all who contributed.

Regards

Daniel
