Thanks for the download. What model are you using for this repaint?

There are the already completed DDS files. I just need them converted to TGPCDX. *!!thnx!!*

Ahh the only problem among other possible ones is that your .DDS files appear to be DXT1 and if this is for the RSC dash9 they need to be DXT5. That is probably why you can't convert them because they are in the wrong format.

Alright, here are the textures. Just do a drop and replace. I also added in the alpha layers for each texture so your repaint doesn't look glossy.

If you run into the same issue again in the future, please make sure your file is saved in the correct format like Buzz stated above. That is probably the issue.

!*cheers*!

I move easily from RSBin to DXTBmp to Photoshop and back.

Not to be a nuisance, but I think I might be improperly doing the installation of these, cause they just show what the engine looked like before weathering. *!embar*!

Sounds like an issue within your repaint's .bin file. Send that over if you want me to look at it. !!*ok*!!

Going to need to replace \SP\ with your repaint's name \SP2 Weathered\.

Seem the problem is resolved - great!

I think this problem is too typical and I think it would be a good subject to encourage new members and help them with a good TUTORIAL !!*ok*!!

I'm willing to start the tutorial with the focus on RW-Tools + Photoshop, going step by step from the Asset-TgPcDx file to dds conversion, photoshop saving procedure and import back to Asset File folder.

Anyone willing to add the RS_Bin procedure that would be fun and welcome.

*** Thus I need the Asset folder name (to check if I have it installed in my TS setup) as I need the engine .TgPcDx file to run i in the game.

ANY VOLUNTEERS *!!thnx!!*

Sure I'd be happy to get involved in this. I would add that I could do it from a Paint.net prospective since that's what I mostly use. I don't have Photoshop but have Gimp. I suspect it uses many of the same conventions. I don't use RWTools but rather use DXTBmp and RSBin to get from a bmp to the TgPcDx file. Anyway sounds like fun. All of us can probably learn something.

I Like the idea of adding the DTXbmp-RSbin perspective and any other procedure would be welcome. I'll start with a generic intro and go to the .TgPcDx-dds export process; then ...
I welcome any positive comments as I do not have THE EXCLUSIVE knowledge, but I would favor a simple introduction or a «getting started with TS repainting» approach. I want to demystify the process and encourage new artist !!jabber!!

How about "The Mechanics of getting started with TS Repainting." we want to stick with the process in this new thread when we start and not confuse people that we are going to teach them how to paint. Perhaps we can start a new topic and then either one of us or anyone else who wants to jump gets some good frameworks we can get Chacal to turn it into a tutorial or one of us can compile the posts?
