i would recomend uninstalling and reinstalling the ROUTE, not the whole game, just the route! maby some people got a bad connection and some data was accedentally left out like in this case.

That is weird. Why would it show in stripes (for lack of a better way to say) like that? I'm wondering, could be a video driver issue? Or almost like if you had 2 cards, and one wasn't drawing the tracks correctly.

Yes and Yes. All other routes are OK. Some sidings show up OK and the rails are OK when you get to the street run. Checked it with RW Tools also. It didn't see anything.

Reading Canadianrail I was thinking that assuming I don't have a software or hardware problem with the computer wouldn't this problem be either in the track or track rules folders? I'm a lot more knowledgeable about rolling stock than routes and scenarios at this point. Couldn't I accomplish a reload by deleting these items and then re-verifying?

I have now deleted trak folder and track rules. reloaded, no joy and have uninstalled the whole Portland Terminal and re-installed. still no joy. I guess at this point I have wasted $30. I have no clue what to try next. I have almost everything ever put out there for RW and have never seen anything like this.

Buzz: Do you by chance have an ATI card? I seem to recall that with RailWorks, sometimes for some routes and/or some models, parts of it would seem "invisible" or "missing", and verifying and clearing cache never fixed it for them. But, that going into the ATI control panel, then turn-off Adaptive Anti-Aliasing (AAA), would fix the problem. In your screen-shots you put up, it also looks like part of a loco there is partially "see-through" as well, and this reminded of the AAA problem that occurs sometimes with ATI cards.

Yes, if there are transparent locos it's a problem of your ATI card.
I had this on my laptop. Don has said it, you need to change the settings in the catalyst control panel.

Whew! That's good news Buzz.
Yep, RWA is among the bestest place for RailWorkers to hang-out at and to even see miracles sometimes. Heheh ;)
Hope you'll enjoy driving on the new route.

I may get it myself at some point once funds allow as it does look beautifully made from what I've seen in screenies and vids of it. Cheers!

Other than that odd part of the yard with the invisible hump, I think what I've been mostly seeing with track at least is that the yard track type has no ballast, but it sits at the same height above the ground as the track types that *do* have ballast, rather than sitting on the ground - what to do about that is a conundrum. There are floating road lofts around also, not sure if they're fixable without making something else look awkward. There's the odd bit of ground that needs snapping to the track too but most routes seem to have that.

Problem with this being distributed via steam is it's a bit awkward to fix up yourself when steam has a habit of overwriting stuff... I use a copy of RW outside the steam tree, but then it becomes awkward to update that.

hughes407 wrote:The two issues I have seen so far are (1) the bell will not turn off on the E9 and (2) the Main 1 scenario does not terminate when I stop at Rigby 101. I have met all the tasks in the task list up to that point and I would expect to see either a pass or fail message (they are the same, I believe) and a check or X on the scenario list but nothing happens. The "Stop at Rigby 101" task does not go away on the task list and I tried stopping at multiple spots on the track. I looked at the instruction in the editor but didn't see anything irregular however I am far from being an expert in that field. I would have to think there is a dependency that I am missing during the run but I can't see it.

The Intro scenarios all worked as expected.

Don

I re-looked at both of these. The bell seems to work this time but Main 1 scenario still does not terminate. I would appreciate a comment from someone who has succesfully completed that scenario.

By the way, I have completed all but the last scenario without any new problems. I did get routed on to Rigby 3 rather than Rigby 1 in the Main 2 scenario but it had no bearing on completing.

Thanks.

I ran Intro 1 scenario twice and got incomplete.

Does the entire scenario need to be done by 9:00 am? I was at the station before 9 but didn't do the runaround (and finish) until 9:03 or something.

Don,

I didn't consider any time constraints while doing the scenario and I do tend to plod along. However, I would expect a "fail" completion to occur if I didn't meet that criterion, not what seems to be the ignoring of the fact that we satisfied the "stop at" requirement.

Intro one did not complete for me either, but then it's confusing. Do you run around the consist and couple to them, while switching cabs? It says "don't push the cars into Union Station" right? !*don-know!* I didn't get one green check mark off the F1 list. Not one.
