I'd like to go on record saying that I do not believe the FEF-3 repaint has anything to do with this recent development. The editor's freezing on all stock in the consist editor.

This is only a hunch, but seeing as this started after adding a new DLC, I wonder if it's a memory problem - the more DLC you have, the more the consist editor has to load into memory ready for building consists. Maybe it eventually runs out of memory. If so, you could try temporarily uninstalling some DLC (locos, cars) and see if it works better.

Okay. I think I know just what to uninstall as well.

Well, I cut the fat by uninstalling some stock repaints that I've had for quite a while but haven't really used (I'll admit when it comes to freeware I'm an impulse downloader). Some of the stuff I forgot I had *!lol!* Unfortunately I've still got the same issue.

The only thing I really used the consist editor for was computing train tonnage. Now that I've figured out the units used in the blueprints I can just reference those blueprints and compute from there.

Finally fixed it! I had to uninstall the MSTS conversions pack I had installed. I think something I did on my end corrupted some of the files and would make the consist editor go wonky when I loaded it up...

But anyway the consist editor works now!

Of course, cache verify bragging rights should be assessed in terms of the percentage of supposedly "damaged" files, not their actual number. For example, stating that a cache verify reported 4,000 "restored" files only means something when the total number of files in the installation is also reported.
