Eek, that's equally annoying. Did this just start happening after the TS 2015 update?

Have you tried turning on dynamic lighting?

There is a post on the Steam Community forum that intimates installing the AP Lighting Enhancement Pack may fix this effect on some routes. I've tried a couple (both UK) and in South London Network it works but not in The Woodhead Line. Which is the worst affected US route and I'll try it there. Dynamic Lighting ON

I tried the dynamic lighting thing. Turned it off then restarted, then turned it back on and restarted but that didn't work for me.

I'm pretty sure at this point, that they are trying to get a few more FPS out of the game, but people with high end systems can't take advantage of those systems anymore.

I haven't looked at HSC lately but Donner is also really bad with any kind of fall or spring weather. I changed a scenario to Summer and the problem went away.

I did not see any white distant mountains in HSC using AP LEEP and Dynamic lighting ON.

Eric
I will try Donner in a little while.

I don't want to be repetitive however I have still yet to see this situation. I must admit I'm not a big fan of the 3D skies so I haven't used it a lot.

No real improvement in Donner - distant mountains are now light blue with AP LEEP Dynamic Lighting on.

Now that I come to think of it the distant mountains in HSC also had a bluish colour but darker than DP.

It may not be working after all, or just working on some routes - certainly on the South London Network - it fixed the distant white buildings. !!**sorry**!!

Have you tried all the seasons? I think I saw it worst in an autumn rain scenario.

It's not related to the new 3D weather anyhow Buzz. It's affecting my stuff after a clean install a few weeks back. I don't remember seeing it with the simple update, however if anyone else did do the simple update to 2015 without a clean install, and are having the white mountain issue, I'd like to know.

The worst case I've seen on Donner is with Spring weather.

Oh well, we'll just have to wait for DTG to patch it up sometime.

I get those sort of images too, but not all of the time, especially with a changing season or weather - when the white distant mountains suddenly appear.

Its a mystery!

Yes after the update. Dynamic Lighting on and AP Lighting Pack applied. Does spoil the immersion factor a bit. White texturing gets applied as you get near but the more distant ones stay green. Probably the route textures default to green for distant and game limitations cannot support a winter alternative?
