No engine sounds with GO Transit F59PH

All other sounds work and the engine still drives, but there aren't any engine sounds.

Do you know how to check .bins and .xml files?

I kind of know how to check BIN files, but I'm pretty much clueless about XML files.

If you use RWTools you can look at and edit bin files directly.

The .xml file is basically a readable .bin file.

If you can, go into the F59PHEngine.bin and look for this line of text: Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH GO Transit\F59PH_Engine.xml
Now change it to this in the file and save: Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH\F59PH_Engine.xml. Run the .xml through serz.exe and you should have sounds.

Wait, I was looking in the wrong file. I found the right file, but there isn't a line of text for the GO Transit F59.

If you see anything regarding "Audio\" and you see something other than F59PH in the line of text, then that is why you have missing audio. I made a repaint for the F59PH and had the same problem. When you go in to replace the folder name "F59PH" with the new repaint's name, say "F59PH TRE", then it replaces the audio folder's paths as well.

In the locomotive's .bin file, it reads those lines of text or paths. For the audio, the path should be: Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH\. If F59PH gets changed, then it will not read the right files. It wont read any files actually. Just look in the file and see if you see anything other than Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH\, let me know and I can help you fix it.

This is the line of text in question:

<ProxyName d:type="cDeltaString">RSC\F59PHPack01\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH\EMD_F59PH_UnloadEng</ProxyName>

Does everything check out?

You shouldn't have any problems with the files within the audio folder itself. I would suggest looking at the F59PHEngine.bin which can be found here: RSC\F59PHPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH GO Transit\Engine. I found problems with the audio inside the .bin which is probably why you are having problems as well. Do a search for "Audio" and if you see "F59PH Go Transit" in the same line of text as "audio," then change it to F59PH.

The only audio related text line that is found when "audio" is highlighted is
<BogieAudioControlName d:type="cDeltaString">RSC\F59PHPack01\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH GO Transit\EMD_F59PH_Bogie</BogieAudioControlName>

F59PHEngine.xml

Paste this in Assets\RSC\F59PHPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\F59PH GO Transit\Engine and overwrite the old file. Then open the .xml in serz.exe so it can rewrite the .bin and it should work.
