Norfolk Southern - Atlanta North District - Scenario 1

Unread postby Vermonter » Fri May 11, 2012 11:04 am

Hellow All
I'm somewhat new to Forums so please bear with me if not in the correct area..

I'm having a issue with loading of scenarioNorfolk Southern - Atlanta North District - Scenario 1 .
I've looked thru the assets with RW_Tools program found nothing missing
whiles trying to open the scenario in game I get as far as the splash screen showing a trio of NS units pulling a trn & thats as far as it goes
after waiting 5/10 mins forced to go back to desktop where I find the error awaiting (Something Bad Has Happened)
I've had this very route Norfolk Southern - Atlanta North District open & working fine with other activities
just this latest scenario seems to hang upon loadup.
I've even tried to open this scenario in editor with the same result unable to open here as well...
Perhaps others have run into this very issue with this activity? Any fixes?..

Thank You

Did you apply the patch that is available? It is on the page where the route can be downloaded from.

Believe so installed both SMM_NSAND_V3p2 & Sunday Drive along with route install 04/19
The route & activities that came with SMM route been great
Just this latest North District Scenario 1 seems to be giving issues not getting passed the splash/opening screen
Perhaps I've missed an updates somewhere?

Thank You Again

Hellow Again

I've re-downloaded, uninstalled this scenario & reinstalled several times to no avail
I Clear Cache (habit) (sometimes more than once) any time I'm about to operate Railworks
this scenario won't open in editor for me as well just hangs then forced to get myself back to the desktop
only to find the standard error Something Bad Has Happened
surely somewhere I've either missed something with this one

Thank You Again

When the computer gets stuck on the loading scenario, it is because there is a problem with an scenario's asset ... Have you correctly installed the pack CSX SD70 repaints and Packs 5 & 6 autoparts Boxcar repaints, look at the readme files of these repaints, did you copy the files GEoPcDx ?

yes everything looks to be inplace
some of the asset I've had for such a long time others I update as they come along
I used/use RW_Tools (V3.0.69) as well to check for missing assets nothing was found missing

Thanks Again

I have this problem with large, complex routes such as NS-AND and Seattle. The only way that I have been able to use them is to set up a separate RW load with only the default routes and the assets required by the routes. I can then load the scenarios successfully. I hope that someone can figure this out because it is a pain in the behind. My only guess is that RW3 is experiencing something similar to MSTS where Train Store became necessary for the sim to continue to grow. I already have a store folder where I move routes that I am not using at the moment but there isn't any way I am aware of to determine which assets have to be in place and what could be moved out temporarily.

I have read in another thread that someone theorizes that the size of the Kuju asset folder is to blame but I tried to pull out as many re-paints as I could into another folder but this didn't help in my case.

Well today I removed / moved all add-on routes to a temp folder on the desktop
The 9 default routes & the 2 addon routes HSC & NSAND-V3 I left as is inside RW
still same symptoms all the activities with NSAND work / operate fine, except the loading of NSAND-Scenario-1 (hangs)
Opened RW_Tools once again let it run thru all its tests found no missing assets, all the rollingstock/consists look to be fine & inplace
RWTools: Stock with Wagon Numbers: 1047
RWTools: Items Used With Selected Scenario: 128
RWTools: Check Selected Stock for Missing Files: 0
RWTools Check For Missing Stock: 0
RWTools Scenario properties XML: All Formats OK
All the other tests run by RWTools went fine found no issues as well.

Think time to take a breather & bypass this 1 scenario for now, eventually will hit upon corrective measure(s)
I do Thank Everyone & should you same issue I'm having make them known Ideas / advice I'll try them as well.

I have also ended up with 8 sets of Assets for various route combinations.

I also cannot get this new scenario to work which is a shame since I spent a few hours getting the masses of stock required. Route still runs fine though.
