The only way that I have been able to use them is to set up a separate RW load with only the default routes and the assets required by the routes. I can then load the scenarios successfully. I hope that someone can figure this out because it is a pain in the behind. My only guess is that RW3 is experiencing something similar to MSTS where Train Store became necessary for the sim to continue to grow. I already have a store folder where I move routes that I am not using at the moment but there isn't any way I am aware of to determine which assets have to be in place and what could be moved out temporarily.
I have read in another thread that someone theorizes that the size of the Kuju asset folder is to blame but I tried to pull out as many re-paints as I could into another folder but this didn't help in my case.
