Mad Mikes GP7 No Couplers

Unread postby Promagstyle » Wed Jan 25, 2012 1:39 pm

I'm having problems with the Canadian National GP7, no couplers and causes my RW3 to crash when I try to couple onto another GP7 (Default).

I will attach the error report here soon.

Sounds like a GEO file is missing. You may want to compare the CP repaint files with a working GP7 repaint.

Well I followed the instructions included in the Installation File of the Canadian National GP7, but there was one thing that wasn't working right, but I have gotten around it somehow or another.

Downloaded and installed SAL GP7 from RailworksAmerica, but the file GP7_Mapper.bin is required to be put inside the RailSimulatorCore folder which I couldn't, because Norton Antivirus keep on thinking that the GP7_Mapper.bin file is a trojan horse..... okie??

So I go around to downloading the SAL GP7 from Uktrainsim.com, and then I was able to place the GP7_Mapper.bin into the RailSimulator Core folder.
Yay, it works now... I mean the GP7_Mapper.bin file that Norton Antivirus does not think that it is a Trojan Horse.

Downloaded and then installed the Canadian National EMD GP7.

Everything loads properly in the TestTrack using the Canadian National EMD GP7 - Lead Engine, but it won't move..... it would only make this annoying beeping noise inside / outside of the cab, which I think its the PCS thing.

Update on this problem soon.

The lead locomotive (expert) needs to driven with the cab controls (after turning on three switches) or with the key combinations called for in the original documentation. The _simp version will use the default F4 control panel controls.

Hope that helps.

I'd thought so, because I finally got the Locomotive moving using RW_Tools and then switching the Lead locomotive from CN-GP7 Lead to an CN-GP7 Simp. It moves now, but so far no sound and that annoying beeping noise has finally stopped. Let's take this problem solving thing one step at a time; shall we?
- Update: I have now got sound with the appropriate EMD GP7 sounds

New problem everytime I try to couple to anything... RW3 would crash and stop there to tell me that "SSBH." Its happening on the FreeRoam TestTrack for Germany and I have made sure that I have checked off that Over-ride Automatic Coupling and over-ride coupling differences.

Hmmm... I must find a place where I upload that error report file.

Above is the link to download the error report for the coupling problem.

Is it only the CP repaint that this is happening with?

Yea, that was my typo, sorry. If I get a chance I will try it out tomorrow.

Update on the Coupling Issue.....

So far so good as to having the Canadian National GP7 coupled to a VIA Rail F40PH, using the RW_Tools as a consist or locomotive editor.

I think the problem lies, where the Canadian National GP7 _Simp is a single unit wants to couple to a another consist or locomotive. It will cause my Railworks 3 to generate "Sorry Something Bad Has Happened." Error message.... I'm not sure what is causing it

Side note: the locomotive will not shutdown when i press the key start button and or start as well when I press the button as well using the F4 Simple Controls.

Yea, that shutdown bug was there from the start. To my knowledge it will never be fixed.
