train numbers

Unread postby TRBasher » Mon Nov 14, 2011 12:27 pm

Ok I have another question :) I have a MRL sd40-2 repaint and I can get it in the game easy enough BUT ( there's always a but right) when I go into the scenario I have my pretty MRL loco with ugly BN numbers all over it. How can I not have those numbers shown? The repaint is numbered in the skin itself.

Essentially the auto numbers need to be alpha'd out. I have used GreatNorther's PS1 number pack (found in the RWA library) to do this with a few of my repaints. In the BIN you will need to map to them and then use the character 'x' the DCSV file in place of each digit of the number to turn off digits.

If you have numbered the locomotive as part of the paint, including the numberboards, just rename the .gscv file to xx.dscv that will cause the auto numbers to fail, and leave everything blank. Don't dlete the file, as you may want to use it later.

Ok I got the dcsv file issue fixed the repaint came with a corrupt file. However the auto numbering is coming from the scenario file not the skin files. How can I edit the scenario file to make it not add the numbers? Or can I edit it to point to a alpha blank like a 0 to fool it into putting blanks? Gonna try that and see but if any one has a better idea I woould be thrilled :)

<Angels singing> :)

Got it to work, I used a alpha channel blank and edited the scenario file to use loco 0000 and 0000 and perfection :)
