Trouble with P42 AWS

I've been driving the P42 on OxPad to get higher speeds, and and I've been having trouble with AWS- usually, changing the throttle tiny bits alot and doing random things keeps it from coming on. Except- after I stop and stations and start going again, after I start going for a few seconds, the AWS kicks in, no matter what I do. I start moving again, and it kicks in yet again. And again. Nothing stops it when it comes on like this. I've heard honking the horn since there is a signal right there after a station platform may help, but I haven't tried it. Anyone know what is causing this and is there any way to stop it, OR disable the AWS on the P42DC without having to do something every 90 seconds(I was thinking disable it in the file, but I don't know what file to check and what values to change).
