GE U34CH NJT

Unread postby timcook » Fri Aug 11, 2023 3:48 am

I would really appreciate some help, as I just cannot get the GE U34CH NJT to run. When I try to run a scenario such as "02-Train 651 to Dover" (NJT: Morristown & Coastline Route) the train just sits at the station, with no engine noises, but smoke coming from under the engine.

I've unticked/re-ticked the DLC tick in Steam, but whatever I do the train won't run.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't have that route but I do have the loco. It appears to be functioning OK here. Have you tried that particular locomotive in a QD scenario? Let's first determine if it is the locomotive or the scenario or the route that's broken.

Hi Buzz,

Many thanks for the reply.

I created a new scenario using the U34CH on the New York - New Haven route with exactly the same results So I feel that points to the loco as being the problem, rather than the route.

I don't know if this helps, but most of the keyboard keys don't work - for instance pressing the A key doesn't advance the throttle. However, some keys do work - pressing V starts the wipers.

Also the engine isn't running (RPM=0) and pressing Z won't start it up, nor does pressing the engine start button on the rear wall of the cab. I've just looked in the Input Mapper bin file, and the Z key is only associated with Engine Stop??

Thanks again,

Tim
