HH600 and Raildriver

Unread postby miata54 » Sun Jul 30, 2023 6:32 am

Got an odd situation. Running TSC in 64 bit mode and have the Boston-Albany route with the HH600. Also have a Raildtiver. With the HH600, all functions on the Raildriver work except the throttle. Advancing the throttle does not increase acceleration. The F4 HUD remains at Idle. However, the HH600 throttle does respond with the keyboard "A" and "D" keystrokes. The Raildriver throttle lever works on every other loco I have in TSC. I have uninstalled/installed and recalibrated the RD to no avail. For those of you that have a Raildriver and either Maine Maritime or Boston-Albany, does your RD throttle work with your HH600?

Update:

I just downloaded Maine Maritime to get the HH600 from that route. The RD throttle control works in Maine Maritime (MM) but still not in Boston-Albany. I also noticed that the F4 HUD in MM shows a "0" percent for all three major functions (Throttle-Reverser-Brakes) but in the B&A, it shows Idle-Neutral-Brakes for the lables. Just wondering.

Don't have the B&A HH600 but I can confirm your observations with the MM HH600. Could reskin one of these for B&A. What software are you using for your Raildriver, Cobra One or the supplied software?

I can confirm that the B&A and MM HH660 work with Raildriver using the Cobra software.

I am using the supplied software that came with the RD. Where can I find the Cobra Software?

This is the latest version v 3.3.0.3. You only need to download the last file TSClassic Raildriver and Joystick interface.
Read all instructions before installing. Initial setup will take some time for it to read all the loco files. You will need to disable auto start for the native Raildriver software, they both can not be running at the same time. The first time you use it you will find that some locomotives will need to be adjusted to work properly. This is normal and fairly easy to do. The powers that be may want to start a Raildriver discussion thread if enough people want to discuss this. I am happy to offer any help if needed.
This comes in both 32 bit and 64 bit. You can install both but I recommend only installing the version you use most of the time.
UKTrainsim had a repository of information and discussions on this, unfortunately UKTS is fading fast. Their web security certificate has lapsed and some browsers will not let you in unless you bypass some security features. Chris Gamble has graciously added a email address in the "when things go wrong" readme to contact him if you have issues after exhausting all your efforts. As a final note set this to run as administrator or none of the buttons will work on the Raildriver. Have fun. !!det!!

OK and thanks for the info. I found the program you listed and downloaded the specific file. Should I uninstall the Raildriver software before installing the TS Classic Raildriver and Joystick Interface?

OK, a bunch of Hula Hoops to go through to get this up and running, but I finally accomplished this. Does anyone have a clue as to why, under the Raildriver software, that the throttle on the RD works on the HH600 in the Maine Maritime route but not the Boston & Albany route? Both G-Trax routes. Puzzling.

I just found out that without the RD software, I have no Bell, Sander or Horn actuation on the RD. Been exploring the Settings tab but can't figure out how to add these functions.

Can you tell who created each model?

Considering where they appear I am pretty sure they are both from G-Trax but they were done many years apart so that would probably account for the differences. You know the rivet counters are always complaining about something so updating a model for a new route could well be expected.
