Penn Steam - AI Stalls at Rivervalley NB

I've run into a problem with the AI at River Valley NB on the Penn Steam route.

An AI train is sent out of N Bessemer on the NB main and is routed to the Jamisonville Northbound point. When the player train running behind and is routed into the C&H interchange track to do work, the AI train is still sitting at River Valley with a clear signal but won't continue northbound, creating a standstill as the player train can't get by the dwarf signal to back into the Cheswick and Harmer track.

I've tried a couple of things:
A. I uncoupled the power from the player train, and the AI train begins to move, then goes into emergency and stops. Complete standoff.

B. I Saved the scenario, and when I resumed, the AI train cleared the signal and continued on. Allowing me to complete the scenario.

Could this be a signal scripting problem at this point?

So what is the name of the scenario so that someone can try it?

Hi,

I assume this your own scenario that you're creating. This could be caused by fault in the signal setup, but also by a number of things in the scenario itself (mainly pathing waypoints or train priorities).

First a question though: Are you playing the scenario from the main (Drive) menu, or did you launch into it from the editor? The latter is very likely to mess up signalling or pathing on any route. And for most reliable testing results, you should probably also avoid using save-and-resume but instead play the scenario in one go.

If that wasn't the issue, then there are a couple of things you could try:

1) It's often helpful to look at the scenario simulation in the editor before playing. This can often reveal problematic areas. (By "scenario simulation" I mean the preview feature that can be accessed via the VCR-like controls in the bottom right corner of the screen. It'll play the scenario under full AI control and you can watch it either on the main 3D screen or on the map. Great to find out where trains might be routed differently than you anticipated and where you can then experiment with adding instructions or placing track markers in the scenario editor.

2) Another useful test is to set up the same situation using only AI trains and observe what they do when you play the scenario.
