Example of what he is talking about. Here is a image I blew up. I then drew a five pixel wide line around part of the outside to show how much smoother it got.

Obviously working on a model with the 2048x2048 or even better yet 4096x4096 your lettering and logos can be much larger therefore making them that much crisper in the sim.

Thanks Chacal for good explanation, I know very well Illustrator and vector graphics as well because I have worked with Adobe suite for a long time but since I'm retired I have not this suite anymore so I was wondering if the other graphic editors was able to do so. *!rolleyes!*

Thanks Buzz, interesting what you do with that problem. So I could take a 1024 x 1024 tgpcdx and scaling up to 2048 x 2048 without problem in TS? I do think that JR locos textures files are that size

Yes you can. The main thing is after you save it back from DXTBmp to RSBinTool before you save it you will need to find a 2048x2048 texture (any will do as long as it is the right compression ie. DXT5 for example) and you will need to name the same as the one you are replacing. Then do the save and it should import with the new template. I take the old one and just rename it *whatever*.TgPcDx as *whatever*.TgPcDx.orig before I do anything else just in case something goes amiss. If you have trouble finding something with the right compression for your 2048x2048 template holler. I think I have one of every combination.

I have a question about auto numbering on my two repaints CMQ and CV GP38-2 based on the GP38-2 BN pack from RSC. Both are numbered with a single number all the time, kinda like 4444, 2222, 8888, and so on. I tried to edit cvs files but all appears normal. I can't wait to upload my two repaints in the File Library but I'm stuck with this problem. Any help welcome !*salute*!

May you attach the .dcsv file here so I can look at it please? I'm not exactly sure what might be the problem here.

Hi ET44C4, I can't attache a DCSV extension file on the forum and the file is too long for a Screenshot from the desktop. I use my old PC at the moment since my new one is gone for repair so can you send me your email address a second time please? My email address is the same on that old PC !*salute*!

Thanks for sending the file over. So, it looks like nothing has really been changed in the .dcsv file from what I can see. The only thing I can think of is that possibly you imported the wrong alpha layer in for your number textures. For example, you might have accidentally made multiple 4s, 2s, and 8s, if that makes any sense. I'm not sure if that's the problem, but double check your number textures to make sure they match with their alpha layer (1 is 1, 2 is 2, 3 is 3, etc.). Open the texture ( in .dds format) with RSBin Tool and check the alpha channel in the right corner to see if it matches up.

Question for Buzz, I'm currently working on a Pan Am F7 reskin with your B&O repaint as the basic engine. I can't rid of the B&O yellow letters on each side of the loco since I can't see them on the Main 1 CGPCDX file. Thanks for help !!howdy!!

I just found that the letters are related to the two rectangles in the Main 2 Tgpcdx file. Now I try to fill these rectangles with transparency via Gimp, any tip will be appreciate ;)

And now I just found the way to change a color to transparency. I'll put a picture of my new repaint in a few days :)

Isn't that where you want to put your 'Pan Am Railways' lettering?

Yes indeed, I didn't try to put the lettering into the rectangles, I put it directly on the Main 1 file instead. Here is the result
