Error Message for one of the workshop route and scenario

Unread postby cnbalasub » Sat Apr 22, 2017 7:14 am

Late last night I picked the workshop route with " Cajon Pass - Modernized " then picked the workshop scenario " Heading Home " to run on my program of Train Simulator 2017. At the end of loading up the workshop route and scenarios I got the error message on the screen and look below:

ERROR: Failed to create vertex buffer (E_OUTOFMEMORY)

File: DxCommon\cHc\VertexManagerDX.cpp

Line: 1242

What is that error talking about? My desktop or the program of Train Simulator 2017 or Workshop route " Cajon Pass - Modernized ". Let me know about this and can this be fixed or not.

Did you clear the cache in the game and try it again?

John
There is an app in the Railworks folder called "NameMyRoute.exe" open and find the WS CJ Pass and highlight the scenario - is there a line of text similar to this:
[Scenario GUID reading ScenarioProperties.xml failed – ‘.’, hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line xx, position xx]

If Yes the scenario extraction into TS is wrong. If No ignore this post.
You can extract the scenario manually and that usually fixes this type of error.
