Gradient tool takes forever to run

Anyone ever had this issue? It's only on some tiles but you click on the gradient tool and it takes like five minutes or more for the arrows to appear.

Well if it takes forever to run, try dangling a Twinky in front of it see if it runs faster then

Seriously though, yeah its happened to me before. For me its usually an indication I've bout used up my RAM and its time to save and restart. Never timed it though, 5 mins. seems longer then I've ever waited.

But the odd part of this problem is that is only does it in certain areas of the route and it's directly tied to the tracks.bin file and track tiles somehow. Very weird indeed.
