TS2016 startup

Unread postby SAR704 » Mon Mar 28, 2016 5:44 pm

For some reason, in the last few days, my PC has been freezing when I launch Railworks.exe from the start menu. I can't do any actions until it has started loading, and it's strange.

Could it be an issue with my graphics card (ATI Radeon 4800 series), or something else?

Does it eventually start or do you have to do something to get it unfrozen?

I've got a computer that does this too. It'll happen when I load up TS2016 for weeks/months at a time and then stop happening for similar periods.

No idea why, but it's not an AMD thing as this PC has an Nvidia card. !*don-know!* The main thing for me is that it doesn't crash so I can't say I'm massively bothered about it. :D

[Edit] In fact, it just happened to me literally after I posted my initial reply. !*salute*!

What OS are you running, also make sure any anti virus is allowing railworks.exe or disabled the antivirus when running the game.
Check to see what background programs are running also which also can interfere.

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Generally I only run Firefox, but at times when checking new scenery objects, I often have Paint Shop Pro, 3d Canvas, Blueprint Editor and a couple of the things still running. All this doesn't seem to affect TS at all.

My graphics card (ATI Radeon 4800 series) is getting a bit old though. I should replace the case and get a GTX 960.

Just make sure your drivers are updated and I would recommended getting a newer GPU.
