Utilities in TS2016??

Unread postby cnbalasub » Tue Feb 23, 2016 12:59 pm

Utilities in my program of TS2016.jpg
I am not quite sure if that is an older version of Utilities in my program of TS2016. Here what I have my Utilities that I took a screenshot from my desktop. So you can see the picture. I believe that would be an older version not new. How can I get the new version of Utilities program for my program of TS2016? Can I ask DoveTail Games support to send me the file of Utilities in zip to my e-mail address or what??

Thank you,

John

If your installation of TS2016 is up to date, then your copy of Utilities.exe will be up to date, sitting in the main Railworks folder.

That isn't the opening screen that you have posted

You could do a full file verification, but I suspect that isn't necessary

Sorry that I did not get back here sooner. Anyway I did try everything and still the same. I wonder if I clean up everything in my program of TS 2016 by uninstall. I got the DVD of TS 2016 on the internet so will that work to reinstall them from DVD and connect to Steam with my name(username) and password. So I will get all the routes and rolling stock (payware) DLC from Steam also will update the program of TS 2016 through Steam if needed too. Is that a good idea or not?

Thank you,

John

You. Didn't answer if there was no utilities.exe in your folder. Anyway you don't have fun to uninstall anything. Just go sign onto steam and do a verify and it will give you the latest and greatest of everything

Yes there is an exe file of utilities in my folder of Railworks. Yes I did ran few times to do verify and did not give me the latest with this utilities. OK let me try one more time to verify and see if I get the update of everything. Now my question is that after the verify done then close out Steam and sign in again or restart with Steam. I wonder if that part will help with this after verify.

Late last night I found out that Utilities is not working properly again and went back what you see the screenshot that I posted in my earlier messages. I did sent a support ticket to DoveTail Games and they don't know how to fix this problem because they kept telling me to try different things. Guess that I just have to avoid this and unzip RWP file by 7-Zip program then copy/paste them into Contents or Assets. It's really frustrated with this part.

Thank you,

John

HI Buzz,

I am really sorry that I did not give you an reply about this. OK I just checked in my folder of TS2016 and all I see is one exe file with " Utilities.exe " but not the other with " Utilities.exe -- Shortcut " Do you think that is the problem with this because I only have one but not two like you have.

Let me know about this.

Buzz - OK now you want to know what happen with me to open the exe file of utilities in Railworks under [b]TS201?/b] OK when I clicked the exe file to open up the utilities program and show me on the desktop exactly what I have my screenshot in my first message.Don't ask me why and I do know you want to work with me to solve this problem but it seem not going happen because DoveTail Games Support are trying to help me with this for a few days. I wonder if the problem is with Net Framework in my operating system of Windows 10. Is utilities required Net Framework to run the program? If it is then the only way I can think of is to uninstall all Net Framework then reinstall them through Windows Update. Or should I leave it alone -- not touch this at all.

Thank you,

John
