Signal Lights Problem

Unread postby Unlimited » Mon Apr 25, 2011 4:58 am

I am trying to add a signal to a track and when I add the links and put 1 on the main and 2 on the other line, they always flash red. I tried it for almost an hour now and they keep flashing red. I cannot figure out how to have the lights be on green when the switches are lined up for the main. I made sure they all were, and it still flashes red. They are the same signals as down the line. If needed I'll post pictures.

Hi,

This is likely due to a speed restriction of the signaled tracks. The default US signals react to line speed, so if a speed limit is 15mph or less behind a signal, it will always show restricted, never anything 'greener'.

Cheers,

I'm going to state the obvious, but sometimes even the experts overlook things ... Are the signal links pointing in the right direction? If they are pointing back at the signal in stead of down the line, they will stay red. Also, you said they are blinking - if another signal is close after this one, the signals will blink, and in this situation it would indicate that the train is entering a restricted speed area that may require a stop very shortly ahead.

Just my supposition.

Yea I fixed it. I set the speed up to 20 now. They were all pointing the same way. Thanks
