Assets Folder??

Unread postby cnbalasub » Thu Dec 24, 2015 8:53 am

Last evening I download the locomotives of Norfolk Southern SD40-2 by Michael Zimmer from the site of Obo's RailWorks Locomotive Catalog. I wasn't sure where to copy/paste the locomotive files to but the readme.txt mentioned where to? And here is below:

Hi RailWork and RailSim Friends!

This is the Norfolk Southern SD40-2 Package.
Assets copy in your RailSim other RailWorks Rootfolder.

Have Fun!
Regards!
Michael.

Is that mean I have to create a new folder in Assets Folder with the name of RailSim. Or can I put these files in Kuju/RailSimulatorUS or RSC??

Your help would be appreciated where to put the files in right folder under Assets Folder.

Thank you,

John

No, if you look at the files, they are all within a folder "Assets" (and depending on which download you have, they either reskin the Kuju model, or RSC\SD40HnPack01, which you must own for these to work)

So simply copy the whole Assets folder into your main Railworks folder (by default, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Railworks, unless you have changed that), and when it asks if you wish to merge the Assets folder, answer "yes". If you don't get that popup question, then you are copying into the wrong place!

Note, you also have to copy over the relevant .GeoPxDx files (as per intructions in the .txt file)

Chris,

Want to say thank you for your reply to my message. Yes I realized that I download 3 different NS locomotives by Michael Zimmer. The one you are talking about is a payware locomotive which can get from Steam now with 55% off the retail price. I think that I am getting one for myself shortly. The one that I am discussing is freeware from Michael Zimmer too and I put them in Kuju>RailSimulatorUS>RailVehicles>Diesel>SD40-2 folder where the other SD40-2 locomotives are.

Thank you,

John
