crocs4022 wrote:Well, this one has stumped me. I've searched online and right here and haven't found an issue similar. After a few month hiatus (no time to play with a newborn and a full time job), I wanted to jump back into things and run some trains. Been lurking the forums almost daily so i'm up to speed with TS16 and what not. I backed up my railworks folder of course. Then ended up browsing steam which automatically downloaded the upgrade for me which went smoothly (to my knowledge). Now mind you I didn't touch the original install. So tonight I attempt to start the game and I get a gray pop-up box from steam stating that it wants to download and install Railworks to my computer. This is a strange one. I went back and double checked to make sure the original install was in the steam folder (because strange things start to happen after 12am when you're sleep deprived), and sure enough, its still there. So I guess my question is, does anyone have any idea what's going on here? Similar issues? Or am I the odd man out at the moment?

If I remember this right, you need to go into your Steam folder and delete that entry. Then Steam will create a fresh one.

All you had to do was start up Steam if you don't have auto login when you start TS and then start up TS2015 and then it would of automatically updated to TS 2016, if you had of done it correctly you wouldn't have the problem. Plenty of instructions on how to update TS2015 to TS2016 on Steam.

trev123 wrote:Basically what a lot of people do is to make a backup of there previous version (also explained on Steam) so if something decides to go belly up in the upgrade they can revert back to that. I have a backup of TS2015. I have never had failures in upgrades too TS. Had it since 2010.

Interesting, will look into this as well and see if that works, thanks!
