UP SD70M Dynamic Brake Sounds Missing

Unread postby FHRob » Tue Sep 29, 2015 5:26 pm

I believe the dynamic brake sounds are missing from this engine. !*don-know!*

Is there a fix for this?

Also, it seems the dynamic brake sounds are missing from the rear engines on the consist in the attachment. The coal cars in this scenario are the
Kuju V5 and Golden Age of Railroading BN and NP models.

I recall many moons ago where throttle changes didn't affect helper locomotives. I think this was back in the RS days, i.e. the dinosaur age. !*roll-laugh*! However, just asking because the Kuju cars are involved here.

Thanks,

Rob :D

Which engine is this? If you are talking about the Sherman Hill SD70s I have four on the front of a train and one MU'd on the rear and they all are making sound and all have dynamic brake sound.

Correct - that's a Sherman Hill SD70.

I've been meaning to bring this up. My UP SD70Ms don't have dynamic sounds either. Just a grating noise.

I found this regarding TS circa 2011:

"If the locomotive has a combined power lever, then under the cControlContainerBlueprint-cControlValue, "ThrottleAndBrake" section, "Apply to Consist" should be set to <eTrue>"

I looked at the SD70 engine.bin file, and sure enough, it's set to "eFalse."

And yes, the Dynamics sound nothing like dynamics should.

The Cheese Grater in action. This is in both the horn modified version I have and the stock files in a backup.
Edit: I also tried renaming my external audio folder and let the program run the sounds from the Sherman Hill .ap folder.
Here's your proof BuzzKillington. !*roll-laugh*!

That definitely should be reported. I did the beta on this before it went to DTG and it sure didn't sound like THAT! Sounds kinds like a goofed up ES or something.

I downloaded that DAV to WAV converter from UKTrainSim and it is definitely the recordings that are fouled up. The proxy xml and bins seem okay, but I'm no expert on sound stuff.

I put in some dynamic brake sounds from one of the older SD70 packs.
I had to rename the files, but they work.
I'd like to try the actual sounds that are supposed to be there.
