A few of us from the NERW are heading to Altoona in late july or early august, we are still debating on the date. It will be over the weekend. We have plans for some tours and a train rde or two over the curve.

One of the nicest train rides you can take, is Amtrak #69. The northbound Adirondack, running between Yonkers NY and Montreal QC. *sigh* I would love to go again!

VIA #1(Vancouver to Toronto) is a lot better imho but each to their own.

I was gonna take a good ride on the Amtrak cross country this year. Looks like I don't have enough money to go for it. !*not-ok*!

I would like to go on some of the Amtrak runs. But the ball and chain would never let me spend a few grand to visit the USA just to go on a train ride.
