Yeah, that's been the best kept secret in North American transportation for a while now. Back in the late-'70s and early-'80s, a lot of people in the industry (generally non-railroaders) tended to ridicule the very idea that this would ever happen, even as two big trucking firms were sitting down with the railroad industry to work out the first moves that ultimately made this happen. The last time I saw any railroad advertising on TV or radio was in the early-'60s, and not long after that the "20 Rails" average on the Dow was replaced with the "Transportation Index." Nobody in my family - which included a fair number of railroaders on both sides - would have bet on the industry doing anything like as well as it is now, and I'm glad at least a few of them lived to see the day.

Sweet, back in the early 2000s we used to have about 3 trains between 9am-12pm. Now its more like 1 or two between those times and maybe 7 per day.

That's because you are not a subsciber. Bummers, I can't fix that. I'll send it to you after I get to work where I can get on the online version.
