Bah that's just a little flurry.
I bet they didn't even close the schools.

Man that's nothing. You should see what it takes to shut down Toronto. Everything comes to a halt with 1" of snow. Nothing but Snow-mageddon chaos!!! !*roll-laugh*!

This happens in the US, too. Mainly in the plains where you can see intense bursts of snowfall and there isn't enough traffic or snow plows to keep the line open. That will be a tough one to dig out! !*roll-laugh*!

That's a stuck engine, not a rotary? Holy crap. Where I live, we don't get snow. Maybe a little hail, some ice on a really cold day. No snow. To me, that's a lot of snow! !*hp*!

They're not going fast enough. Here's how we do it in NZ...

PS There's no plough on the front of that DX. They just ram the square end through at speed.

NDORFN,
that's a great way to get a ground fault from shorting your traction motors!

Odd! I know here on our plow trains they stick 2 or more locomotives on it in case one gets snow in the motors and it GF Relays.

Makes me wonder how they get away with it too. They're a GE U26E ( a narrow gauge version of the U23C, which is very close to the U30C), so maybe the fact that the traction motors are much closer in on the body than standard gauge might be a factor.
