I live 5 minutes from where this happened.. Non-issue.. Most all of it evaporated already..

What that article doesn't tell though is that the same bridge collapsed 3 years ago. It's an old as heck swing bridge that should have been replaced ages ago. For those wondering this is a Conrail shared assets line on the Penns grove Secondary. This line is 99% of the time trains pulled by CSX. Very rarely do you see a random NS on it.

styckx, why am I thinking of the 1993 Big Bayou Canot train wreck it seems similar. Also what railroad owns that piece of track?

I updated my post w/ that information.

But this is Conrail shared assets and this particular run and line is the most active on it. Mainly CSX 99% of the time. Follow the track left sweeping around Railroad Avenue and it takes you right to the derailment site.
