Yes, that is a real letter box. I posted a card to my parents from it.
She is a beauty. I don't know what they are feeding her but she purrs like a kitten.

Yup.
If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend this shortline. Its a three hour round trip, lots of history, beautiful scenery, and of course two Alco S2 and lovingly restored coaches.
