My Saturday excursion

I decided, with a friend, to go to Downtown to a little diner for lunch. Goal was to not use a car. So, take two busses to the Del Amo terminal for the Blue Line. Take that (light rail) to the Red Line (also light rail) get off at Pershing Square, walk three blocks to the most delicious greasy food you ever tasted. Nickle Diner. The patty melt with onion rings was to die for.

OK, now, walk back three blocks, get on the subway, my friend needed to pick up his pre-paid tickets for his rail trip this coming week. The subway here is heavy rail. Don't know the designation, but it's square, not round cans.

All the trains, even the busses, were packed. Standing in the underground, you can tell by the wind, the train is coming. Union Station is just incredible. They don't let you go look at the trains unless you have a ticket, tho. Bummer.

So, back to the Red Line from the underground, then back to the Blue Line, two busses back home. What a great, great fun day! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Oh, you buy a "TAP" card at the local gas station. For $6 you can ride all day, anywhere Metro runs. Bus, light rail, underground, even Metrolink. Fantastic deal!

But my baseball bat is in the shop getting re-coated and my insurance is'nt payed up !*don-know!*

It was really fun. Kinda extreme, a four hour round trip for a patty melt, LOL. Just nice to get out for a while. !!*ok*!!
