Hobo Bill's Last Ride is actually by Jimmie Rodgers.
City Of New Orleans - Willie Nelson
Jimmie The Kid - Jimmie Rodgers
Waiting For A Train - Jimmie Rodgers
The Brakeman's Blues - Jimmie Rodgers
Railroad Song - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Cross Tie Walker - CCR
Rock Island Line - Leadbelly
Train, Train - Blackfoot
Wreck Of Number 52 - Cliff Carlisle
Midnight Special - Leadbelly and CCR
(I Heard That) Lonesome Whistle - Hank Williams
LOL These are all from my itunes. I'm pretty sure I'm the only teen that listens to this.

In a classical vein, don't forget Artur Honegger's Pacific 231 as well as numerous polkas and waltzes by the various Strausses and others, and a whole host of other big and little pieces. The appeal of the rails transcends musical styles! :)
When i was working at a classical radio station in Wisconsin in th 1980s they had an album that had a little piece by Rossini that depicted a demonstration run by a steam train, it was quite comical. Haven't found it ever again, alas. That's the earliest "railroad classical piece" I've found.

There's also the song that I based my username on...
Mystery Train by Elvis Presley. BTW Presley also recorded a song for his film GI Blues that's called
"Frankfurt Special". It sounds similar to Mystery Train but has differnt lyrics.
The rock group Blackfoot also has a song called
"Train Train" that really rocks!
Finally, there's "Georgia On A Fast Train" by country singer Billy Joe Shaver.
Hope these help!
