Quite a nice front end on that site, good to see NS getting back into supporting older coal-fired locomotive preservation again too. After all, I guess if anyone has some coal going spare, it'd be Norfolk Southern!

I remember reading the NS statement "we are a freight railroad, not in the passenger business" back in 1994 and I thought "a bunch of arrogant suits that have probably never been near a train are about to make a serious PR- fubar" by killing the Steam program. Im glad to see that someone in the front office has some sense these days. Yes, it's a start, but I for one shall not be satisfied till I see the likes of a J-Class or Mallet running the Autumn Leaf Special again!

Haha yea. That was their stance until recently. The new CEO of NS is a SOU guy, reasoning for using the SOU locomotives at the TVRM. There are rumors of NS using NKP #765 on fall foliage trips. Expect a test run of her later this year. There are also other rumors involving the J, but nothing to take to heart. *!!wink!!* !!*ok*!!
