My new job!

Unread postby thecanadianrail » Sun Jul 31, 2011 6:54 pm

Well i am starting a new job working in Alberta, Canada. I am working at a gasplant that serves the rail induistry, and i was quite supprized to see what a powder sulfur car looks like! (a cross between a woodchip hopper and a bathtub coal gondola!) but that is not what supprized me the most, what supprized me the MOST was the plants switcher! (you never would have guessed this thing is still running!) here is a picture the loco working at the plant:

(i was just going to show the original photo off the internet but then i noticed there was a picture of the one working at my jobsite which supprized me!)

(will put up a picture later next week of me beside the loco!) !*YAAA*!

Hah wow! be sure to take as many pics as you possibly can of that! ( the manual too if they've got it ), and if you're really bored one day start measuring :). Good luck in the job too!

well i can tell you this, i am about 6'10" and standing beside it the running boards are over my head! it's got twin 12 cylinder turbocharged engines, only has train and loco brakes, is fully diesel and uses gears, and someone left their drink can on top of the instrument pannel lol !*roll-laugh*! !

i think i will do this line after i have completed the rest of my projects. if you want to see the plant on google maps just go to Fox Creek, Alberta, Canada and to the southwest of the town you will see the plant. (or the white blob that is supposeto be the plant but on a bright day the sulfur kinda blurred the picture) all of the tracks are visible, even the engine house!

Hmmmmmmmm, If I make it back up to Fort Saskatchewan, I may have to see about a trip over that way though it might take 3 hours or so one way.

I have all my safety training cards though I don't expect to be going into a confined space when checking out a railroad. !*don-know!*
