Thanks for the link. It brought back a few memories of taking this train journey as a tourist in the previous generation of rolling stock about 20 years ago. Two things that struck me back then were the passenger boarding arrangements , more like getting on a plane than a train, even down to the safety brief, and the fairly low average speed, compared with similar journeys in Europe. The new coaches are vastly improved but from the comments on the video my earlier observations still apply to the new service.

Our passenger trains still share track with freight. We're not getting a Shinkansen anytime soon.
