While looking for photos for another post I came across this:

Back in the 70's railfan's joked that UP stood for Unlimited Power. And by judging by this photo it seems true. A lash-up of a DD35A and 2 DD35's (B units). 15,000 horsepower captured in this frame.

Unlimited Power is not always a good thing. I remember reading a story about a turbine powered freight that had taken a siding to wait on another train.Not realizing it, the engineer had stopped with the turbine exhaust under a road bridge. The asphalt on the bridge eventually became so hot it melted, resulting in a big pothole that UP had to pay for.
