Interesting YouTube video about the Sacramento northern, a division of the Western Pacific.

The Sac Northern was an interesting operation. There are still some places in the Bay Area where one can see the old right of way. There were pics floating around on the web of the Contra Costa tunnel after abandonment, including a few of the inside after it had been sealed up.
I keep hoping DTG will do a second release of the Sac Northern, this time from the ferry in Pittsburg to either Stockton or Sacramento. And then a release covering Sacramento to Marysville / Yuba City.

It could also be a southern extension from Oroville to Sacramento via Yuba City, one of the places where WP met Sacramento.
P.S.
This was in Yuba City:

Several other divisions existed under Western Pacific ownership, Sacramento Northern, Tidewater Southern, Central California Traction, Deep Creek Railroad, Indian Valley railroad, Alameda and San Joaquin, Alameda Belt Line, and the Oakland Terminal Railroad. The Western Pacific also operated a rail car ferry in the San Francisco Bay area.
