The American People are totally indifferent to such things. Just by this posting proves my point. You guys noticed it, but nobody from here even bothers to comment on it, let alone vote, protest or even right a letter to some official, by the way taking any of the above actions immediately puts you on a home grown terrorist watch list. I'm truly glad I'm so old and my time is short.

Thankfully the BTP here are all part of the same system as the regular police; some of the other govt agencies ( of greater or lesser connection to the govt these days ) have some rather dubious powers, though.

Actually I don't consider this a political discussion, and it does have to do with railroads, as long as it stays as a discussion about railroads.

This is all getting ridiculous.

My buddies got the CP police called on them by a passing CP high railer (on the road)....while they were shooting a CN train on CN trackage, whilst standing on the side of a road. Since when was this abuse of power abnormal though? The cops showed up, took names, addresses, checked I.D.'s and told them to stay off the right of way, which was odd, cause they were no where near it! This crap seems to have been going on for a long time now...just another example of wannabe cops getting high and mighty

The best was the dude who got detained for taking pictures of Amtrak trains when Amtrak was promoting their "photograph our trains" contest.
