BNSF mockups in the video games

Unread postby SAR704 » Mon Jul 16, 2018 11:24 am

Tonight I did a tiny bit of train spotting, albeit in American Truck Simulator.

I noticed that SCS must have (recently?) changed the logo that was visible on the locomotive length 'freight trains' that you always just manage to arrive in time for within the game, regardless of how little you try.

But anyhow, the stripes and orange is still visible, on a game that is certainly available through Steam in Australia and other countries that are not the USA.

I am just bringing this up because I am curious as to whether or not there may be a rule breach here, as it is obviously intended to be a lookalike to a BNSF locomotive.

I was thinking of contacting BNSF themselves in regards to this, but decided against it for the time being.

I'm at a loss to explain why you would consider contacting BNSF about this, or even just care about it.

It's not like BNSF can do anything about it. It doesn't have any of their logos on it. As BNSFdude said, don't bother.

It's been like this since the game was first released in February 2016, that's over 2 years' ago, read the thread here - viewtopic.php?f=61&t=15747&p=178849&hilit=bflm#p178849 you're a bit late with any insignificant complaints........ !*roll-laugh*!

Contact BNSF for what exactly? what are you trying to accomplish? Copyright purposes? that's the whole reason why it say's "BFLM" yeah it does have the same kind of paint as BNSF does, but so what, it doesn't say BNSF just for that reason of copyright. But to say you would even think to contact BNSF for such a matter, is ridiculous.

Oh hey I know BFLM! "Big Familiar Looking Motive (power)". They are a Class 1 line that covers most of Pixelsvania and a leader in shipping recycled electrons to companies needing power.

And if I were you I would spend the time used to Pixel a fight over nothing to better use. Believe me, you don't want INTER-NET-POL to make the Hard Drive over to your Port Address and Monitor you. Because the moment you get Keyed up they will grab your Asterisks and put you behind Space Bars. So you better QWERTY while your ahead.
