A train is like a gun. It doesn't kill anyone. The dumb a**es who ignore or try to beat trains get killed through negligence. People who write for a living should get a clue.

Unfortunately, it's a thoroughly believable headline. There is a tendency in both public policy and journalism to blame the thing rather than anybody's irresponsible behavior. Evidently, doing one's homework and getting an accurate story is not a priority, probably because it is more likely to engage one's reason rather than one's emotion. As a director I once worked for used to admonish me, "Don't confuse the situation with facts."
