Amtrak has an interesting video about the 100th Anniversary of Washington D.C.'s Union Station on their new channel.

Fun fact about the 1953 train wreck mentioned in the video. The GG1 that was leading landed in the main concourse of the station and fell into the basement. Because the inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower set for a week later was looming a temporary floor was put over the locomotive. People passed through without even knowing of the locomotive sitting in the basement. After the inauguration passed the locomotive was lifted out of the basement by cutting it into 6ft sections. It was then rebuilt and continued to operate until it was retired in 1983. Today it's on display in the B&O Museum in Baltimore.
