The next Railroad Tycoon?

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

The next Railroad Tycoon?

Not about real world trains, so delete this post if you wish.

Perhaps the latest in the Railroad tycoon genre:

Also interesting, Train Mechanic

and the working hump yard in:

I just picked up Transport Fever. Trains, plains, buses, trams, boats, trucks, horse & carriages... Just like Railroad Tycoon, but updated.

I think its going to be hard to beat Transport fever with all of the options you have at your disposal as trains are only efficient for a certain distance range. Not to mention the modding community that it has.

I couldn't figure out if Transport Fever has a sandbox mode, where one would not be in time pressure or competition. I'd get it if I could just build and operate, without regard to trying to meet some arbitrary goal. Those of you who've played it, can it be played sandbox?

"Train Simulator Mission" looks interesting, but I'd like to know more about it from RWA members who run it. Anyone? *!question!*

The closest thing to that is an infinite money mod. They can be found on the steam workshop and on the official website's modder's page depending on if you have the standard retail version or the steam version. The only thing with most of these money mods is destroying a building to lay your track will cost money but laying track, adjusting terrain, constructing any sort of structure/scenery item and all vehicles become free.
