I recently saw a post on a local Railfan Facebook page which states that all six Union Pacific Heritage locomotives will indeed be repainted to the normal armor yellow livery. Here's the thing, I'm not 100% sure if it's true or not, but if you look on HeritageUnits, the Katy is sitting in Mt. Here's the last post on HeritageUnits for the MoPac. Once again it is found sitting at National Railway Equipment in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Looks the same for #1983...

This has been discussed ad nauseum on other railfan sites already. UP repaints their engines in house at North Platte. If these units were going to be painted armour yellow, it would have been done there already.

Instead they are at NRE. They are going get painted into the heritage colours again.

Alright that's good information. I heard that that was definitely a possibility so glad to hear it's true.

Just went by there the other day, and a worker there confirmed it for sure. Now only if they actually repainted them in to schemes that the railroads actually used for once.
