BNSF really is picky about where they allow their brand....

Grab a rock, have a seat, and talk about the real world of trains.

...that.... or enough palms weren't greased. *!rolleyes!*

BNSF logo edited off loco and re-numbered #21791 in the new Ed Sheeran "Shape of You" music video starting at the 2:09 mark....

Since the BNSF branding in Train Simulator isn't available to customers in the UK, I guess it also extends to the music videos of UK musicians as well. !*roll-laugh*!

Not the first time this has happened. In the movie "Identity Thief", a CSX locomotive was digitally repainted "CST". The loco was in the scene very briefly as the train went by, but apparently the producers thought enough of it that had to be changed.

As far as movies go I would think it's more about product placement. It's the movie guys who want the money from the companies, not the otherway around. When you see a can of Coke in the movies Coke is paying for that for placement. Why would CSX pay for that unless it was a train movie?

Coke is a bit different, as they have to come to you to ask that their product be added to the film. If you go to the railroad tracks, then you are going to the company. Since the train was not actually a plot point - it just passed by in the background - the producers may have felt it was unnecessary to ask permission to use the trademark and just changed it to be sure to avoid any infringement. Then again, they may have asked CSX permission, were denied or quoted and unacceptable amount of money, and decided to change the logo to avoid this.

I guess if they are shooting on CSX property.

If not, NYCTA should be making a fortune with every bus and subway car that passes by in a NYC movie. I need a raise! !!*ok*!! *!lol!*
