CSX SD70ACe-T4?

I don't know if CSX will or not, but seeing as EMD has improved their SD70ACe, would it be possible that they would in fact purchase some of the new ACe's or will they continue the trend of buying GE? Does anyone know?

I doubt CSXT buying more from EMD. They haven't in years.

True, they have not bought an EMD unit in 12 years, if I'm not mistaken. The fact that they are testing SD70ACe-T4's is a good sign though. Be nice to see something else besides GEVO's.

Zek, I live not 1/4 mile away from the A-line. And I see nothing but GEVO's. Not to mention in my living room, I can tell when there is a GEVO nearby as well. I'd rather have an EMD T-4 for a change. Just my

I beg to differ. I live very close to the CSX Metro Sub, and I can hear a K5HL and a K5LA from my house. But since he AC44's and Dash 8's have K5LA's just like the EMD's, it's kinda hard to tell. But I'm a GE guy, so I'm a little biased.

I understand that completely. I like GE as well, but a little variety wouldn't hurt either. Besides, I think the T4 ACe's look awesome. But that's my opinion. Perhaps CSX will buy some, as I've noticed with them is that the longer they demonstrate a locomotive the better the chances are. So long as manufacturer makes good on comfort and fuel economy.

The thought of a CSX SD70ACe-T4 is very odd, since CSX has had a very unsatisfied heavy powered EMD fleet. EMD could have 'slimmed' down the T4 ACe a little like GE did with the ET44 though. Just my opinion.
