I'm just wondering. What's your guy's thoughts about all these steam locos going away and coming back? There seems to be a lot of activity around the nation for steam locos this year. Downfall of WM #734, UP #844 and SP #4449 coming back, C&O #1309 and UP #4014, the revival of two articulated steam locos. I could go on.....

But that exiting news that so many steam locos are coming back.

Coming back? But they never left....

^ SP #4449 just came back from a rebuild, and UP #844 is about to come back, too.

4014 still has a few years left on it before it runs again.

Yup. UP says It's roughly 3-4 more years till UP #4014 is up and running.

This summer Duluth, Missabe and Northern 2-6-2 #28 will be entering service on the North Shore Scenic Railroad in Duluth, MN, filling the gap left by Soo 4-6-2 #2719, which is either awaiting a boiler reconstruction or has retired. http://www.lcnewschronicle.com/news/two ... bygone-era

We'll also be getting a dome car that's currently being restored in Fargo, so this will be an exciting summer. If only a 2-8-8-4 M4 could be restored, that would give us national attention.

The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad already got lots of attention when they announced the restoration of C&O 2-6-6-2 H6 #1309. That makes 3 articulated steam locos that will run/are running in the near future.

Good ole' #611. The Spirit of Roanoke is the only one running around the area this year though.

What's this eight posts or so and no one has said anything yet?

Here's one. I'm hyped that all these steam locos are coming back from rebuilds!!!

I just really hope that they continue to run #611 after this season. It's not looking very promising.

I heard NS got a new something, and that person isn't interested in running steam on the NS.

Im going to Depot Days this year so Ill be taking a look at 4014, 3985, and 844.
