The red light comes on when the train is in emergency.

Sooo, it is not a part of the Pyle light, does not rotate so that the reflectors flash the light around?

A few other locomotives of the time received Oscitrol lights that had crossed opposing beams and pulsed, but contained no moving parts. Most U30-Cs had the traditional Pyle Gyralight, and I believe UP and a few others used Mars lights, but all moved.
