A Trip to Portland, OR

Went to Portland, OR on vacation recently. One of the stops was the Oregon Rail Heritage Center. The home of both GS-4 SP 4449 and E-1 SP&S 700!

They're almost finished restoring SP 4449, just needs some firebox work and boiler tests and they said it should be running in about a month. Then they start on SP&S 700.

Very cool to see, touch, and smell these locos I know so well from Rick's G-Trax rendition!
