Hellmans Mayonaise

Unread postby artimrj » Mon May 11, 2015 6:53 pm

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's Mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.

This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico.

... But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5 and is known, of course, as - Sinko De Mayo.

WHAT??? You expected something educational from me?

*!rolleyes!* I thought you were going to say the ship also had a load of pickles. When fishermen stated pulling up fish covered in tartar sauce it became a big hit.

Bob, you've stated that you have been working long hours, so the only thing that I can figure is that you have been inhaling too much granite dust. *!rolleyes!* !**conf**!

Granite dust just gives you a nose bleed if you get too much, other wise just black boogers. No matter what color the granite is it always turns black in your nose. Now if you want to inhale something, try the lithochrome solvent, or even a nice color of lithochrome, white stinks, silver smells nice. Then there is the stencil filler, which is actually liquid rubber, but we call it glue. Add to that the orange citrus cleaner to wash it all off. Lastly the lovely diesel fumes from the trucks running with the doors all closed. They only open the doors to warm the trucks up when it is 20 degrees or less.

I inhale industrial solvents and diesel fumes all day too Bob, brain killing and performance deteriorating stuff. Now if we had our NERW meet in Colorado and I accidently ate a pot brownie which is legal I could be put in the "street" for 90 days with drug rehab without pay and lose my home.

To top it off I have to stand behind people in the grocery store buying shrimp, steak and alcohol with their food stamp cards while I'm buying pasta and tomato paste with my job induced brain damage. *!rolleyes!* . !*not-ok*!

And that's no Joke!

Too keep it on topic I wish I could afford Hellman's. !*salute*! !*roll-laugh*!

FYI..."Hellmans" Mayonaise is branded as "Best Foods" here on the west coast (it's my favorite Mayonaise). Also.... "Edy's" ice cream is branded as "Dreyer's" in the west. Why the exact same products are branded differently depending on which half of the USA they are sold is beyond me. !*don-know!*
