I disagree, that thing was hit with the fugly stick! !!bang!!

Had they stuck with the front colors across the whole loco then it would look much better. But mixed with half NS black and white? Ummm....just no.

The orange on top doesn't help the loco either. Not a big fan of it to be honest.

One more "Nay" vote here. The subject is worthy of the honor, but the paint job is hideous. Just wait until it starts to fade and turn pink.

NS has done well with the Heritage, Veterans, and Southern locos, but this one is definitely a wrong turn.

I think it's nice that someone is doing this. Try for just a minute to think of what it stands for instead of what you think of the design.

Buzz... I doubt you will find anybody against the sentiment behind the making of this locomotive. People are simply unhappy with the execution of that sentiment....that is... the paint scheme choice. Who doesn't like first responders? Especially the small rural town volunteer firemen who do it strictly for a sense of duty and giving back to their community...not for the money. They don't get nice pensions or decent death benefits for the risks they take. Those guys IMHO are a step above the career firemen. !!howdy!!

Looks like they tried to combine a CB&Q heritage unit into it. The loco that the guy who started the petition for it looked better in my opinion. But at least Norfolk Southern does these special locomotives that probably cost far more to paint instead of trying to paint them up as cheap as possible.

Now see. I thought it was fire engine red and the company black and white simply represented the police services...
Plus some paramedic stuff.

I think they did okay.

If I wanted to nit pick, I'd repaint the gold/orange into an appropriate shade of blue, so the loco had a more Red White and Blue theme.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.
Slick with Pretty Rainbow Colors.

EYEIN12 should add that to their SD60E project.
